For those interested, you can get a new lock box on ebay for $20-30 You can buy them at Home Depot too, for about $30 - no need to deal with shipping and whether the ebay vendor is a rip-off, just take it home with you.

In my experience junk haulers usually try to rip you off, so if you go that route be prepared for outrageous bids.
