I am adding ceiling insulation to the whole building to remedy the discoloration problem on the ceilings where the insulation has blown away from the attic vents.

Smoke penetrates everything: insulation, carpets, any unsealed wood framing-interior of cabinets-lite fixtures, hvac system, etc.

I can now use the proper terminology for the units as well.I looked long and hard for a 110v one and I found several of them , I was amazed at the performance they gave though granted it was in a reasonably insulated home(rowhome so side walls were not exposed to elements).

We have never been able to get the returns required through foam insulation.

I am also of the opinion that a crawl space should be a conditioned space, meaning no insulation in the floor and good insulation around the perimeter, preferably on the outside of the structure so that the structure will stay conditioned, and dry.

@Cory Mccarthy  all sectors crashed.... new construction  buy and hold , lending it was across the board.Now I know this site is primarily a buy hold /  specific areas got hammeredJust ask the new crop of apartment syndicators they got smoking deals on units because people lost jobs and could not pay rent.Ask anyone who owned units in Vegas or PhX when construction cratered and half the renters left and went back to Mexico  Buy and hold on its face does not insulate you from an epic crash like that one.In some markets it probably did and defiantly for the higher grade assets.. but remember this was also a job loss issue.

Once you get up in the $/ft2, then the buyers are going to get more concerned with the less noticable things, like equipment brand, insulation type, finish trim details, material selection. 

The thermal camera is great for detecting air leaks in the house, missing insulation, and other energy related issues.
