In terms of reading materials I would recommend checking out Buy, Rehab, Rent, Refinance, Repeat by David Greene and The Book on Estimating Rehab Costs by J Scott.

I'm sure there are other strategies available and would greatly appreciate all insight others are using to pay off and reuse their HELOCs.David Greene suggests that if you use a HELOC for an investment, get the money back in 18 months or less.

I am green to this as I have made a couple offers on some homes, shown interest in others, but have not been able to land one yet.

Then later today the investor chose to include me in a group text he has created with other people on the road leading to the housing project about how great of a victory it is that he’s gotten the dumpster moved and that he will be cleaning up the space and planting grass and greening it up come summer.
