Some places that allow a small second residence on the property target those to "in-law"-like units, where an elderly relative can live independently on the property.Thank you for your post - it's an innovative concept.

If short sale sale due to reverse mortgage or foreclosure then the borrower/principal homeowner per HUD [the foolish sponsor of the conniving manipulative reverse mortgage industry that is out to take homes from remaining Baby Boomer seniors & elders so younger families can purchase the homes instead while those seniors and elders are placed into senior living centers etc.

Aloha George, we work with a lot of elderly homeowners who are in reverse mortgages or in distressed situations. 

One final thing to consider is sometimes when it comes to elderly people, their family members have put them on a do not call list to protect them from solicitors.
