Handily smokers are not protected classes in Fair Housing.Again, personally speaking, if some idiot wants to light cigarettes near an oxygen tank they can blow themselves up somewhere else and in someone elses property.

Boom, you just spend 15 grand easy.Now a tenant moves out and the kitchen cabinets doors are falling off, the cabinets are rotted and the horrible yellow vinyl flooring screens 70's + 40 years of abuse and cigarette stains, and the kitchen cabinets are rotted under the sink and the counter needs to be replaced anyway.

Especially here in Canada when it gets cold they will fill that thing with a cigarette smoke smell that never goes away.

I would feel the same way about cigarettes which are legal.I just view the security deposit as being there for you to recoup costs associated with re-renting the unit.

I could detect the smell in the bathroom, but it was not overpowering, and I couldn't detect any cigarette smell in any other part of the house.Confession time was over, I proceeded with inspection.
