The city wants to limit "abuse" of the STR platform.

@Bruce Lynn sorry you have to go through this but very grateful for this platform to hopefully get you some answers and help educate the rest of us at the same time!  

They try to string us along for a few questions before attempting to take the reservation off platform by having us email them.

Here are 3 recommendations that I think are helpful for new members of the platform:1.

Effectively, this wipes out every penny I made from ALL of the investments on their platforms over the past 2 years.Of course there is risk. 

It can notify hosts when supplies are running low and help keep track of usage over time.Hostfully: Hostfully provides a comprehensive platform for managing vacation rentals, including inventory tracking.

Can you do it on the regular platforms like Zillow?

You need STR insurance, not a homeowners policy.Don't depend on any insurance provided by a listing platform. 

Again there was a lot of info given at the 3 day and I did like the idea of being able to utilize their platform for a year for free (Well of course the event cost $300) but I somehow felt we would need more "education", mentoring and help.
