Anyone else having issues w/ VRBO?
Hello,
On 3 different VRBO listings, one in Albuquerque, and (2) in San Diego I'm getting an unbelievable amount of scam inquiries on VRBO. It's always a new account w/ no reviews, and it always starts with "is the place available on 'x' dates". They try to string us along for a few questions before attempting to take the reservation off platform by having us email them. They're likely all working out of the same call center somewhere overseas.
At this point we haven't gotten a legit VRBO reservation in about 2 months. All of our guests are through Airbnb. Anyone else having this problem?

Quote from @Greg R.:
Yes they're inquiries, not reservation requests. Not sure how/ why but we almost never get these on Airbnb, and on VRBO it's almost all that we get.
They are fishing.
The next door neighbor of one of my houses put my house as a listing and booked it to a couple from out of town for a couple of nights.
The perp found out when it was available, didn't book and found a party to give them money "on the side" to "save the fees" and booked it to them without me knowing. The couple was legit and surprised when I showed up at the house to do some work. I was surprised to find them on my property. The police sorted everything out. Since I didn't have proof who pulled the scheme, I couldn't prosecute.
How did they get into the house?
