The other thing you can do is ask the person who runs the group to introduce you to some of the more active investors in the group, the investors that are actually buying real estate as opposed to just talking about it.

It seems like you want to hold on to the house and get your equity, so maybe look into a HELOC. but i would do it while you're still the owner occupying it. when i tried to get a HELOC on my rental property one bank said they don't it for rental properties and another would only loan %60 of the equity as opposed to %80 if i lived there. best wishes for whatever you decide

What I learned was that many of the single women with no children have a difficult time finding housing and most of them only needed to rent a room as opposed to an apartment or house so I decided it could be a great opportunity to have a few boarding houses in my portfolio.
