Just because your other family members want such-and-such doesn't mean that you have to agree.If you have 50% indicted TIC interest now, the most they have is 50%, unless there are more than one other distributees which would of course be even more fractionalized.Unlike a typical informal real estate partnership, related owners are less likely to push the issue due to family dynamics and personal reasons unless the other owner(s) are isolated and atypically acrimonious.

If it's a small town that is a bedroom community for a much bigger town within 30 minutes that might not be too bad, but if it's isolated be careful.

I can only imagine what the remainder of the house looks like.  ...if the quality of the construction is good then I would probably have reason to believe this problem is isolated to this particular area. another question I would ask would be about flooding in the area. pay a trusted professional and save yourself from a disaster!
