He's an experienced investor who's delivering the truth learnt (painfully) through the school of hard knocks. 

I am originally from Mystic, CT currently active duty Military with 8 years left before retirement and I started looking into real estate investing as a way to augment our retirement income.

The truth is they aren't and have to advertise and try to sell the house (contract).

The comment was extreme, to be sure, but with more than a kernel of truth.

I think there's some truth to say that rent controls will reduce some enthusiasm for investment dollars in Oregon, but one has to ask, "As compared to what alternative(s)?"

There is truth to it, of course, because there is truth to everything, but it's not entirely correct.The reason this is "being harped on" is because this is the main marketing and branding tool seasoned operators have against newer ones.

I appreciate the raw truth as im ready to get the ball rolling one way or another. 

The truth is, you could read 100 books and still not know enough because certain things need to be learned through trial-and-error.
