When sourcing an installer always ask for references, get pictures of work, and ask to walk through a completed job if possible ( often times you can ask the references if you may see their completed project they are more than happy to) cabinet resurfacing is good option if you want to maintain a stain grade product.

I put 18k in materials I repainted the interior , replaced the old iirrigation, put up shade screens over the pool and lounge area in back yard, repainted and stained the kitchen and bathroom cabinets, replaced the kitchen countertops, replaced the flooring in both bathrooms and walk in closet and finally put a new Hvac and heater in.

One thing you should definitely do is with the staircase, a change you can make for cheap is to sand and stain the handrail a darker color and paint the balusters white.
