The only thing I can say is that, with Zillow, Craigslist, FB Marketplace, etc, people find a lot of places to check out and they don't want the awkwardness of saying "We'll decide later whether to apply or not", so they promise to apply and then don't.

Normally, some renters might be turned off, but you'll always find some that will make it work, even if the layout is a bit awkward, it might just take a bit longer to rent out.
