Unfortunately, I couldn't purchase it this year but I just need to keep saving, analyzing deals and at some point I will be able to purchase it.

Hire a licensed and insured electrician there are codes that are in place to protect people and property it is a safety risk that you should not cut corners to save a few dollars on.

I don't think that it would be wise for an senior to invest their life savings in a house where there is very little return, if any.

If its the latter then I always caution people spending money to save some is not always a good strategy.
