If you can't hang, you need to get out of the way and allow the contractor to finish.You'll have a final inspection of the work and if funds were dispursed in phases the last amount will be disbursed as completed if it had not.

That is a fine idea especially if you can live cheaper somewhere else, parents, girlfriend, a little room or what have you.Just realize your debts may get in the way of buying a home, although you can always move into a rental if need be.
