Hey BP community, Can anybody vouch for the education/tutorial kit sold by Bravo TV network real estate star Josh Altman?

There are jurisdictions (parish to parish here) that have very different attitudes toward landlord vs tenant situations.There are reasons why LA is where it is on this list:http://www.instituteforlegalreform.com/statesYour tenants are immersed in advertising (billboard, TV, radio, etc.) to  pursue legal action in the event of any accident, injury or incident and with "hungry" attorneys everywhere you turn, you will have to defend yourself sooner or later.It sounds like your father-in-law is great for the role you want him to play.  

Nothing like TV and movies where you get a midnight call to unstop the toilet.

I could see having all those utilities included be an issue because then they wouldn't care about running the heat/AC and I can't even imagine letting them hookup to our cable tv?

If you dont have a construction background you will find that fixing a house is not as easy as they make it out to be on TV and that every contractor out there will rob you blind if you dont know what stuff should cost.I've always had a pretty hands off management style so like to have "interests aligned" with the people working for me. 

I work in TV news so my accounting is sub par at best (we are not math people) but I just finished a seven month remodel here in California where I did most of the work myself... so I'm very handy and looking for deals and fixer uppers.  

@Jason Clark  we all find motivation from different places.Even those TV Guru's and bus tour Gurus who are so vilified on BP by the majority here ..
