I dont know alot about the FRP panels but seams are always the weak spot on any surrounds so pay extra attention to transitions and sealing them.

Depending on how saturated the wood is you will have to either clean down and seal, sand and seal , or replace sections all together that are too far gone.So clean the house first real well, rip up the carpet, and use the black light and then report back.
