Countertop ones are so outdated, take up so much space, that it REALLY seemed to help sell the homes faster.

If you really love changing out countertops and tiling showers...great.

What options are available for granite counter tops that are being replaced?

Strip carpeting to reveal beautiful hardwood on first floor;Refinish hardwood flooring;Remodel bathroom;New LVP floor and granite countertop in kitchen;New LVP flooring in laundry room; What was the outcome?

- Build 1 Car Detached Garage (pad is already there- Extensive Landscape package & privacy fence around rear- Granite Countertop & Island, Travertine backsplash- Tile flooring in bathrooms- Reconfigure 2 closets and a full bath into 2 bathroomsI will update once I finalize the budget numbers but there are some exciting prospects for this property and the area in general.

What I don't want to do is get a contractor and he quotes me a price on rehabbing with a different eye (you mentioned granite and he might just see regular countertops etc) then the average investor would see.

I just read another topic about finding good contractors and being wary of people asking for money up front.I'm about to order around 30-40 ft of granite countertop with install and the guy says he will need a 50% deposit with a quoted price of around 2k.I just wanted to know if it's normal for them to ask for such a large deposit before they begin work (e.g. getting the slab for fabrication etc..)

I'm thinking a darker color with a light countertop would look awesome for the money!

Or even if water pooled often enough on the countertop from washing hands, faces, etc, and the back of the vanity wasn't sealed, it could leak down that way too.
