As others have stated above there are a number of situations that occur when an owner and tenant meet and the property is being professionally managed.To satisfy all parties you might ask your PM to provide specific details/pictures of the inspection that give you the peace of mind you are looking for. 

Long term, you probably will be spending less if you consider turnover, vacancies, maintenance and your time/peace of mind.

Knowing it will all be uncovered eventually, gives me peace of mind.

I would say that the numbers you did right before you got the loan should be your peace of mind.

For what it is worth, find peace in that your story will prevent other investors from risking their life savings in Historical Districts.

Has there been a complaint or city hassling you or you just want the peace of mind of everything being legal?

I should note that my husband continued to work full-time, which was additional peace of mind but he didn't/doesn't have to work, he just loves his job.I think the biggest myth is that you have to be a millionaire to be financially free - I wasn't, but because rental income covered/s my living expenses comfortably and we had ample reserves, I was still just as financially free as someone making millions.  

It goes a long way to ensuring peace of mind or highlighting red flags that get hidden when people just talk a good game.
