I've put in some fiberglass tubs in other units based on my liking how this tub held up, but now I'm rethinking my choices.The metal tub only cost $150, while the fiberglass tubs come with their own surrounds and cost about 5 times as much, but I do have the expense of a tub surround, which was why I wanted to comment.i use something called Texture panels.
