How about $175K house bought in 2010 for $175K in county tax only area got sold for $129K in March 2010.I meet millennials quite often paying 70% of their post tax salary as rent sharing rooms with number of people depending on neighborhoods in SFO , buying stocks at peak in first few days of trading now trading @40%- 60% .My two cents - find five friends whose average income and investment number is your goal and move on.
