You can't speak to a frenchman unless he speaks english (or your language) and if he doesn't, yelling slowly at him in your language won't make the subject any clearer.

I found a "handyman" worker who speaks only broken English, but enough to understand 80% of what we talk about.So the pros are that he's generally cheaper than a contractor.

Might be 15 in this whole area and I'm sure none have sold within a year around here, most are French provincial, English tutor style, contemporary around here went out 20 years ago. 5,000 sq. ft. and price is guessed at by the daughter, (a PITA who thinks she knows RE, an agent in Texas 20 years ago) telling mom it's 500K after her renovation, the daughter painted cabinets in pastel colors.
