I live in Miami most of the people in Miami work service jobs most of the people in Miami make under $20 an hour and I guarantee you that when the economy turns down the waiters the waitresses the cleaning ladies the bartenders the massage therapist the yoga teachers all suffer and a lot of them lose their housing

Do any of you ever require any supplemental information from servers or waitresses to corroborate their income?

I have friends who waitress for like $6 an hour and those who waitress 6 months out of the year and clear $250k annually. 

I just think it’s unfair that my grandma - with over 50 years of waitressing - can’t get a job there.

And I can't help but laugh at the backyard hipster chickens in Oakland ;).. makes me immediately think of the Portlandia episode where they ask the waitress if the chicken is local organic which is followed by a bunch of completely nonsense questions about the chicken's personal life.

She wound up working at a Nanny, a Waitress and currently, a Personal Trainer.

Not really. maybe try hanging out at the grocery store and ask people up and down the aisle or asking the waitress at a local restaurant.

Only cost is buying a drink and/or food & tipping the waitress.  

I read somewhere (rich dad poor dad) that we all tip waitresses and other local vendors, but what about the people that will appreciate it more or that do more?
