The issue is the girlfriend and I will be quitting our jobs come January and traveling abroad for 4-5 months in SE asia/ NZ, to teach CPR and basic medical training (Volunteering). 

Time is better spent hosting lunch-and-learns, being a junior achievement volunteer, putting on financial literacy courses at your church, starting web sites like BP, hosting podcasts to help others get ahead...practical stuff (where you may be able to help 1 out of 10 or 20 who are willing to fix the habits that keep them in the middle class).Class warfare creates more divide than it provides help or solutions.

None of the volunteers here can create a wholesaling business for you, you're going to have to take the initiative to build up a lot of knowledge on your own and then ask specific questions when you run into challenges. 

But in both careers, I found I was giving more time and getting less fulfillment.While working 9-5 jobs, over the past 5 years (Finished Study at BGSU in 2011), I've spent countless hours working for free and volunteering to try and make my dream of working in an NBA Front Office a reality.

Others said not to bother with a license and volunteer with an investor.

I only bring that up because of the potential opportunity to volunteer my time with flippers on a project or helping source RE deals...maybe having a couple weekdays free would be more valuable?

I got there early so that I didn't miss out on anything and actually made it there early enough to help the other volunteers set up a table with name tags and itineraries.

IF you can, however, you'd most likely be volunteering for double taxation (assuming the account consists entirely of pre-tax funds): you'd pay the loan back with after-tax funds (tax #1) and then when you withdraw in retirement, you'd pay taxes again (tax #2).
