Hey BPers - I'm a new investor living in Tokyo for work, but am looking to invest in Chicago (lived there).

There is an active community of investors in Japan that host meetups in Tokyo.

I've been to Tokyo over 20 times.

I used to live across the river near Akabane, and would hang out in Kawaguchi.I'd recommend that you try to connect with some other Japan-based investors here (I used to be based in Tokyo, but now back in the US).

@Daniel Infante - Are you in Tokyo? 

Have you been to the BP meetups here in Tokyo?

Robert, being from Tokyo, are your plans to invest there or here in the US?

There are some mixed sentiments regarding our presence there, but overall I think it's fantastic.I do have some investments in Japan, in the Tokyo area. 

As a final thought, just a short list of some ways people I know in Tokyo are investing in the US - and this is just people I know! 

However, it is also experiencing population growth in Tokyo and to a lesser extent Osaka, because people continue to move to the cities and the countryside is becoming depopulated.
