New Investor from Tokyo, Looking at Chicago

Hey BPers - I'm a new investor living in Tokyo for work, but am looking to invest in Chicago (lived there). I'm still learning but am hoping to make a trip out there sometime later this year for work and pleasure.

Being that I'm a loooong way from Chicago, I'm looking to start with a TurnKey in either SFR or multi-fam properties, but have not decided which yet. From my brief browsing, it seems someone like me should probably start out with a grade A/B property rather than C/D, but any inputs on this would be great.

The financial analysis of properties seems something I can pick up, but I haven't seen much info on Turnkey exit strategies, so that's on my to-do lis as well.

Anyhow - looking forward to learning much from the community, and would be interested in meeting up with anyone here locally. Good night, or have a great rest of the day...where ever you may be!

-Jumpei

@Jumpei Matsuda

Welcome to BP, it is a great website.

I am from Illinois, and I lived in Korea for almost 5 years. I also enjoyed my visit to Japan. You should see if there is a local meet up in your area. If not, I recommend starting one. It is a great way to stay motivated and meet other like minded people.

What did you do when you lived in Chicago?

Have you read the Ultimate Beginner's Guide? It is a great read (plus free).

Don't forget to make keywords up so you know when someone is talking about your area.

When you want to tag someone in a post use the @ symbol and start to write their name. A box with their name will pop up and you should click on their name. It will turn blue, like your name did in this box.

When someone writes something you like, you can give them a vote for appreciation.

Good luck & remember
