One even said he had to scarf down dinner just to be there by 7 p.m., so no way he could have made it by 6:30 even though he knew the letter said 6:30, and they all seemed confused like we had no right to be angry about wasting a half-hour of our time when I said, Well, we all could have eaten dinner as well if we weren't told we had to be here at 6:30, apparently just to wait for all of you for 1/2 hour.

You know like doing laundry, paying an electric bill and not starving in the streets because mom isn't cooking you dinner.3) Showing a future employer you can finish something even it takes 4 years and it didn't end up being what you thought when you started.4) Specialized knowledge to perform in a specific field.In reality even most people that are going to school for the pure vocational aspects revert to #3 unless they go into a highly specialized field that typically will require and advanced degree like Law or Medicine.If you take classes online or go part time while living at home you miss out a lot on points 1 and 2 and unless you goal is to get a better 9-5 JOB it is a horrible waste of time and money when you want to be an entrepreneur where that piece of paper is of very little benefit.Now even if that is the goal and he WANTS to go to college to learn and to grow and to take part in some seminal events that will shape his life forever more, that is a different beast.
