Pacific Heights 2.

Prices in the pacific Northwest have absolutely skyrocketed over the past 5 years.  

One thought I had was to do an exchange on a property in somewhere more affordable like the Pacific Northwest to avoid the tax penalty, rent it out until we retire, and then move in but my wife seems very committed to the Bay Area and we simply can't afford to buy here even with a large down payment.

I am in the Pacific northwest and I could buy several cash flowing properties with them vs investing so much into one property here.

I am now firmly ensconced in the beautiful and occasionally sunny Pacific NW.  

The intercom repair company I called quoted me $1250 to replace unit but all I needed was to replace some wires and a few buttons on a Pacific intercom system.

We just experienced our "pacific height" and completed the eviction process.

As I recall, this is what Michael Keaton's character did at the beginning of Pacific Heights.

I bought property on the beach, on the Pacific Ocean.

Planning to work on my hobbies while everyone else in my household is distracted by the game on this drizzly Pacific Northwest day.
