You should watch some YouTube videos on conducting a title search.To search for liens in Harris County, use this site: http://www.cclerk.hctx.net/real_property/About.asp...Click on database search on the menu and search by grantee name or grantor name on the property.

I'd start by listening to every single podcast - there's the equivalent of a Master's Degree in real estate there.Then look in the menu for Network > events to find a local meetup.

Once in contract and ready to lock, the lender should be providing you with a series of interest rate and closing cost options like a menu (changes daily, waste of time to talk about it before you're in contract and ready to actually lock that day).
