How do you search for Liens against a property?

I've been looking here: http://hcad.org/property-search/real-property/real...

...but when I search for properties I don't see anything that looks like:

Tax Liens: $XXX

Mortgage Liens: $XXX

Where can i find this information for Harris or Galveston County Properties?

You should be able to go to youreal County website and then look for Register of Deeds. You can look up mortgages here. You'll need the tax map ID and then look under taxes to see if there are deliquent taxes or see if a tax lien has already been sold. You can see when a mortgage was filed how much it was for and run some numbers to estimate how much of mortgage is left.

This is how is works in SC and should be Similar for you.
