What is really bad about this idea is not only the additional seams, but those seams will be thicker than the seams at the end of the drywall sheet.

I have had BathCrest of Seattle do an epoxy like coating over tubs, shower pans and walls for me in the past.  

I tell them they probably should not post then unless they have thicker skin, people will be who they will be and you need to deal with it.There is definitely a haters club here for wholesalers, I have been mistakenly taken for one in the past and clearly showed that is not the case.

I finished them with 3 coats of gloss poly .  

I'm also with Nathan on the fact that you need to get thicker skin, this is a business and if you can't stand telling someone they can't rent from you then I question whether you'll be able to handle the harder stuff that being a landlord entails (i.e. bad tenants/evictions/etc.).

Usually they are creosote coated and can come in contact with soil.

We allow pets in all our C/D class rentals and nothing really holds up like 3/4 oak with three coats of oil-based poly on it, except MAYBE tile.

The house needs a fresh coat of paint on exterior siding.
