The damages are clearly beyond normal wear and tear and I do believe that they are oblivious since when the handed the keys over they told us that they had maintained the unit in impeccable condition.

The key to this though is you to maintain your properties.

My SFR is well maintained with all walls intact, newly painted and orange peel textured.

The picture shows the house looks clean, well maintained, and like it would be a perfect rental.

You get what you pay for, but if well maintained they will hold up.

There is a room between the 2 bedrooms that would be maintained as a flex space/ It's a great house and a lovely neighborhood but....

So, if you can budget for maintenance and maintain adequate reserves, you will be much better off in the long run skipping purchased warranties.
