Traverse City is a huge tourist resort area and Mancelona is only 30 minutes away with not much in between.  

Just a few years ago, the city passed a waterfront revitalization plan and try to turn this historical beach city into a new tourist attraction destination.

@Renee BaconIn the local REIA groups, I have see few investors; rent out couple of single family houses and then give out for STR for tourists etc.  

You guys are missing the biggest plus of Chattanooga, besides it being a great place for tourists, a place I love to vist.   

@Mario Mormile all of the above post have some vary true and valuable input, HOWEVER.... if you are looking to buy a vacation rental in Florida, in a condominium complex on or near the beach where Airbnb/STR, etc is allowed and popular with tourist (i.e. guaranteed high occupancy) some of the financing options mentioned above may not be available.

I know I've talked about this somewhere else on the forums at some point, but so many of the traditional property management companies here don't do one night stays, and because of the clientele in the summer (foreign tourists passing through on their way to Yosemite) they miss out on a TON of bookings and often have low occupancy and revenue in the summer.

My strategy with this property is to hold long-term and use as a vacation rental property for tourists.

I currently have 3 vacation STR properties (1SFH, 1TH, 1Condo) with a 4th (condo) in the works, all in tourist areas.

I was thinking about beach front condo and lease it weekly to tourist and have a property manager take care of it.  

It's a tourist attraction for it's size (only 15000).
