We postponed our wedding and bought the least nice apartment in a lovely, old townhouse in a neighborhood in transition across from New York's lower Manhattan.Hoboken was then arty, risky, and not yet the back-drop for The Sopranos or Cake Boss.

I wanted to put an offer in the next day (wed.), but decided to wait until my contractor could see it the following day(thurs.)Sure enough, the property went under contract on Thursday morning.

I never thought to mention this but then I thought perhaps not to many folks know about it.Every Weds WSJ has a special section dedicated to real estate called the property report. 

1) Cancel property insurance2) Cancel electric3) Make dinner reservations4) Check to make sure the check did not have a stop payment (happened Wed)5) Allocate the money

We have a meeting on the 3rd Wed of the month at the Round Table Pizza in Lake Forest at 7:00 p.m., come check it out. 

For example, in October, even though there is only 1 football weekend, we are fully booked with other parties coming for weddings, a band competition, and family reunion.  

On a personal note we were in Redding, Ca last weekend for a wedding and went to a fabulous ranch home in the hills east of town off highway 44.
