If you leave snow up to tenants and they don't do the walkway and someone slips and cracks something, they aren't likely going to be liable unless it's specifically set out in the lease and still, you are getting sued.

Hello Alexander, The Rental has a walkway from the front that leads to the back yard.

I'm looking to redo the lawn on the property with native garden and changing some of its design like walkway, etc.

Other things they look at is emergency lights, loose railings, chipped paint, cracked walkways that may be a trip hazzard, self closing self locking doors, fire retardant paint on wood panel hallways just to name a few.. 

I would probably run a solar powered lamppost where the stump has been ground -adding visual separation between the drive and walkway.
