If a post seems too lengthy, it's simple: don't read it and refrain from responding.

This is not going to be the most "ideal" scenario that you would prefer, but the alternative would be to go through the lengthy process in housing court which may not guarantee any solution. 

I learned to not have lengthy conversations with tenants (especially when talking about an issue).

When you know you've made a new contact with good synergy, its not the worst thing to have a lengthy convo and limit time for more introductions.What I do to bypass small talk is ask - "how did you hear of this event?"

Most tenants cannot afford to come up with a security deposit without a lengthy notice OR being allowed to make payments toward the deposit.

The feedback I usually get is that buyers wanted to assume the loan but the process was lengthy and complicated, and buyers eventually moved on leaving the seller with no equity and option to sell other than writing a fat check at the closing table since they had to continue to lower their price.
