Hey, just wanted to know if anyone in Montreal,Canada had any good/bad experiences with banks and or lending firms.. looking for places that are pro-investor and understand that my other mortgages are not necessarily my debt as i have tenants who cover the payments.

My father was born just outside of Montreal.  

I'm originally from Montreal (hence the "Swan-See" - it's much easier to attempt my name in French) but moved out to Vancouver area back in 1992 (wow, ages ago now!).

Hello everyone,I am situated in Montreal and looking to buy my first property.Having read several posts by other BP members in Quebec it would seem that most properties on the MLS are ill-suited for returning a profit.Does anyone have any tips/tools/tricks for finding off-market properties in the Montreal/Laval area?

(especially Montreal/Laval)Here is a bit of background, my partner and I have been looking for our first property (single-family) and due to the pandemic lockdown being slowly lifted there has been a surge of demand for houses in our target neighborhood.We are looking for a place that needs work and this hasn't seemed to reduce the competition in the area, the last two properties we went to see had 3-4 other offers by other DIY investors like myself willing to pay (almost) top dollar for properties needing lots of rehab.
