Military pay has increased at a mostly lower rate of than in the private sector.

This thread has identified the sectors that started two of the last three general economy downturns (the dot com and the housing bubble - it missed energy).  

Govt. does everything slower and less efficiently than private sector, so naturally AZ cleared out their glut of foreclosures much quicker than FL.

The largest sector in America makes between $20,000 to $29,000 per year and our poverty level is at around $19,000 per year and this is what they are willing to spend each year on:Eating out $1,483Alcoholic Beverages $247Tobacco $324Entertainment $1,517Let's see $3,571 However, the average person is only willing to spend $95 per year on education!

One last recommendation is to do some research and see if there are any non profits working in the energy sector in your area.

That would be an excellent strategy, especially since being a former vet we had no training on va loans before we were put back into the civilian sector. 

So for example, if this was purchase from and auction (government tax or private sector auction) make sure that their are no judgments or government liens on the property...these types of issues don't come out of the shadow until the government does a national audit on all their outstanding debts.

AltaSea is also supposed to be a big deal and funded by private sector.

In many parts of the US, manufacturing and similar jobs are going away and what remains are service sector jobs.

Lots of service sectors folks; a helicopter pilot and web designer;  a mechanic, etc..
