Just one real world example:  On one of my projects I spent 5 years filling up a new 600,00 sq ft office building we developed in a major downtown market with new 15 year leases, only to find out 20 years later that the subsequent owners failed to renegotiate fair lease renewals with my existing tenants and they all moved out to the competition!
