There are historical reasons for the lack here, but I wont bore you with the details.Another consideration, on cheaper properties, say in the under $300k price range...for some reason, the rents on these tend to be a bit stronger on the Maryland side of the border than they are in Virginia....so you will find a better price/rent ratio in Maryland.

The "hood but soon to be not hood" parts of Oakland.Vallejo.Richmond, especially along the El Cerrito border. 

However, I have not heard if RRSP loans can be made across the border.

I'm Corey and I live in western PA, right near the OH border.

It would be my first out of state investment and I am wondering if it is too much to take on (because of possibly being in a higher risk area).It is in zip code 53205 right on the border by 53208 and 53233 (just south of James Groppi High School).  

If this is the case, your bordering on a few different neighborhoods which all carry varying unique factors to contend with.

Torrance and Carson are established but also have rough patches so I would beware if any home bordering $400k in those cities.  

However, in the local market, the stagers have had a pretty good run of business and their fees are high, bordering astronomical.
