Using RRSP's to lend on U.S. deals? Can you do it?

BP Nation and specifically BP Canada,

Can anyone tell me if it is possible to get Canadians to lend on US real estate using their RRSP? I don't know a lot about this except that it has to be at arms-length to lend on Canadian real estate from your RRSP. However, I have not heard if RRSP loans can be made across the border. 

Any advice on this would be greatly appreciated.
