What is currently holding you back from other markets? 

Do you have a current need for that cash flow generated from the tax savings?

I currently own 5 properties, but am looking to pick up another 2-3 this year, so scalability is important for me.

For added context, currently renting, no debt (aside from a car loan with about 25k left).

I've read BiggerPockets' Real Estate Investing book and am particularly interested in the house hacking strategy, as I'd like to move out of my current living situation.Our main dilemma is choosing between a single-family home (renting out one room to a close friend) or a multifamily property like a duplex or triplex.

None of the very small handful of students I have spoken with that are currently partnering with Ryan and Tyler on deals are happy with them and feel like Ryan and Tyler only have their own best interest at heart and don’t really care about their student’s success beyond lip-service.

We were trying to buy a loan that was in default and the current lender was emotionally attached and has it listed for over $2M when comps are $1.5M.
