New Real Estate Investor in Boise Idaho - Go Broncos!

Hi Everyone!

My name is Chandler Koch and I live in Boise, Idaho with my wife and 2 kids. I currently work remotely as a Manufacturing and Quality Manager for an AI infrastructure company based out of the Bay Area. A coworker mentioned they learned how to invest in real estate using the Bigger Pockets website so I decided to check it out to see what it was all about. I'm glad I did! I've only scratched the surface of all the great content on the website and I'm looking forward to networking and engaging with the community to learn as much as I can. 

My goal is to have financial freedom so I can eventually quit my 9-5 job and use my time to spend with family and do things that excite me. I'd like to achieve this within 10 years. My short term goal is to start investing in single family homes/duplexes within 100 miles of Boise as long term rentals. I don't think I'm ready for our of state investments but who knows! I currently have a majority of my savings invested in the stock market but am looking to diversify into real estate and other ventures to achieve my financial goals. I'm looking to start with purchasing a home under $300k and taking it from there.

@Chandler Koch Welcome to BP! This is where I started as well, and then about 5 years later I was able to leave my W2. I'm in Idaho Falls. I'd be happy to have a call and discuss opportunities in this side of the state. I just listed my last property for sale, a fourplex in Pocatello, because now I focus more on commercial RE and syndications to be a true passive investor and not deal with tenants and repairs.
