The concern he had and to be fair he said he needed to research it (i am just doing some of my own) was that since most of the work and hours will be conducted in LLC now and the LLC does not own the property would that create any issues with my ability to file a schedule C and claim depreciation and losses, etc?

I want to note, and this advice is not unique to Lifestyles Unlimited, per se, but there are a lot of newbies that go through these various courses, do the 20-100 hours of course work and then feel adequately prepared to start hunting for deals with investors money.Remember, just because it is real estate does not mean there are not major risks.
