You need to resign yourself to the fact that all these things are not going to happen, barring a minor miracle.My way of handling this would be to put your husband in his boots, fleece pants under jeans, and a heavy farm coat/Carhatt jacket, Give him a tire billy.

I may try pulling out the carpets, appliances and cabinets (they are shot anyway) Wash down & OdorXit top to bottom a coupe of times, Kilz everything walls & sub floors a couple of coats and see what I have.

As far as the sheetrock, paint it with Kilz and then a couple coats of ceiling paint.

It will be more expensive.Spend the grand to clean it up, give it some curb appeal, and a fresh coat of paint.
