It's amazing to me that you can get life without parole for stealing a bike, but the guy who ran Countrywide was able to bring the FDIC to its knees without even paying a penalty out of his own pocket, much less spending a day in jail.

I can tell you from working in land development do not get greedy.There are ways for the city and for a developer to get your property for less if you give them trouble.If it's a fair offer you take it and call it a day.If they are trying to steal it or buy it for less than you could get for development yourself then you fight them.You don't give it away but for a fair offer you agree.

In the unlikely scenario they give me a fake ss number, or get a digit wrong, I am now in a much worse position to collect unpaid rent if I have to go the collections/garnishment route.I don't know how a landlord can verify that the ss number I have been provided matches the identity that was put online.

If it was listed for $300,000- I might be looking for what is missing, like maybe a sewer plant needs to be replaced, or the park is on a master lease that will expire, or maybe- they are only collecting 50% of the rents- maybe a manager is stealing the rest of the funds...
