First off, I am the Landlord of a residential home in Texas and with the recent storm my tenants lost power for over 36 hours at the property which caused the tankless water heater to freeze over, have parts fail and it began leaking water and gas.

I recently booked a cheap stay for one night while staying in Texas during the big freeze.

HelloWe have some rental apartments in Houston and the pipes burst ed because of the recent freeze.

Here in MN, we got told everything was a-ok with shutting down restaurant's because they could do out-door dining, in the middle of winter, with feet of snow and below freezing temps, that genius from the Governor of the state, and he probably sat back patting himself on the back thinking "well I fixed that problem". 

To top that off they have a rent freeze in place, I can't raise rent on people paying half of market rent, unbelievable. 

In the meantime, get space heaters so the pipes don't freeze and offer the option for your tenants to move into an airbnb or an extended stay hotel. 

One of my houses was hit hard by the Texas freeze, with the main water pipe broken in several places. 

Nothing I could do about it till the freeze went over.

The pipes didn't freeze up and nothing busted which I consider a win!
