You can still use it as a STR and rent it out throughout the year and visit as well. 

You might be able to visit a few areas in a weekend and create a rough list of where you would like to look to buy.

One allows one visit a month and the other allows one visit a week. 

Buy inexpensive ones from a local box store.The other option is visit a few thrift stores to look for curtains.

While it's a semi-rural area, many visitors come from all over the states to visit a park just a few miles down the road.

The only time we physically visit a place before making an offer is when a seller won't accept a "blind offer" or won't accept an offer with an inspection contingency. 

If you're just starting out, you may want to visit a few mobile homes for sale and inspect them before settling on one to buy.
