I don't know—I tend to think the economic response of Hurricane Harvey will be different than that of Katrina, mainly because Houston's economy is very different than New Orleans' economy.

I've been a renter in three very different parts of the country (San Diego County, Miami, New Orleans) and, if a potential LL had told me I needed to pay a commission to their agent to rent the place, I would have looked at them like they had 3 heads and quickly moved on.I have heard of this kind of thing in places like NYC.

I believe there should also be somewhere around 4 hours per each of those days spent on that business activity (meeting with PM, contractors, tenants, local agents, maybe going to open houses to "check" the market, do work on the rental, etc.)One example I remember was a deductible seminar in a place like Hawaii (let's say New Orleans, in your case.)
