Wire moving against the roof can damage the shingles and it's a great way for lightening to be conducted to a building, it should have insulated stand offs attached to the building to hold the wire away from a roof line.

In a retrofit situation, be certain to strip all the existing layers of roofing (shingles, shakes, etc) first to lighten the load and allow you to affect any repairs to the existing roof deck.

Instinctively, I thought that offering at least some furnished units would lighten this yearly problem.  

We paint with Behr Gobi Desert, it will lighten things up and be nice and neutral, ready to go with any furniture.

One easy cure for this is to take the photo into a photo editing program and lighten it up.

If it were me, I would lighten up on some of this and make it more concise.
