Yes you partner with them on the individual deal but you get the reps in to become better at watching a deal from start to finish. 

You mentioned that you are not a W-2, but that is not the only status of income producing individuals.

Some of these new age syndicators are raising money in incredibly small amounts and I believe are intentionally pursuing these smaller dollar amounts because of the unsophisticated individual behind those dollars.
